Þverá/Kjarrá, Eystri-Rangá and Ytri-Rangá all passed the 2,000-salmon mark yesterday. Þverá/Kjarrá naturally stands out among the three, as it is a wild salmon river, while the other two rely entirely on the release of juvenile salmon.

The Minister of Justice says Angjelin Sterkaj has not had his sentence reduced, and that a lifetime ban on re-entering the Schengen Area ensures that he will not ever return to Iceland.
Sterkaj, who is from Albania, was sentenced to 16 years in prison for murdering his compatriot Armando Beqirai in Rauðagerði in 2021.
