Voter turnout higher than in the last election
From the mayoral candidates' debate hosted by Morgunblaðið and mbl.is. Around 55,000 people had voted in Reykjavík’s municipal election by 8 p.m. tonight, representing about 51% of the 108,000 registered voters in the city. more


Political scientist Eva Heiða Önnudóttir believes it will be difficult to form a governing majority whether the election results favor the right wing, led by Hildur Björnsdóttir, or the left wing, headed by Pétur Marteinsson. The outcome of Reykjavík’s municipal elections remains highly uncertain, according to a political scientist, as recent polls show only narrow differences between several parties. more


Early voter turnout has increased in several of Iceland’s largest municipalities compared with the previous local elections, RÚV reports. In Reykjavík, nearly 29% of registered voters had cast their ballots by 15:00 local time. During the last city council elections, just over 26% had voted by the same point in the day. "It’s no longer possible to map any distance" is a short story written by Shahan Neman that describes a walk that blinds the eyes that try to look ahead.

It also lends its name of an exhibition at Skaftfell which gathers works from twelve Icelandic artists.
