The ring road, Route 1, between Núpsvatn on Skeiðarársandur and Höfn has been reopened. The road was closed at Kirkjubæjarklaustur last night due to weather.
Vegagerðin (Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration) reassessed the situation this morning and then moved the closure from Klaustur to Kálfafell.

Gale-force winds are affecting the Eastfjords, and an uncertainty level has been declared at Fagridalur due to avalanche risk near Grænafell. This was stated in a post by Eastfjords Police on Facebook.
