Sanna will run again - but maybe not for Socialists?

Sanna Magdalena Mörtudóttir, lead candidate of the Socialist Party in Reykjavík, says she intends to stand in the municipal elections in the spring. However, she does not know whether it will be under the banner of the Socialist Party or another list.

Icelandair to Launch Direct Flights to Venice Next Summer

"Not just some family men who like riding motorbikes"

There were proper reasons for the police to monitor the gathering of the Hells Angels [sic] in Kópavogur on Saturday night, says Ásgeir Þór Ásgeirsson, deputy police chief in the capital area.

A large number of police and special forces officers monitored the area and searched guests. Three were arrested but later released.

Viðreisn leader in capital won't run in local elections

Þórdís Lóa Þórhallsdóttir, leader of Viðreisn in the capital's city council, will not stand in the next municipal elections. She announced this on Facebook, where she also says that 8 years is enough and that it is time for change.

Þórdís Lóa has served as leader of Viðreisn in the city ever since the party first stood in the municipal elections of 2018.

Potential limits on ice cave visitor numbers

The ice cave season begins in Vatnajökull National Park around the beginning of next month. In the previous season about 200.000 people went on glacier hikes or visited ice caves.
