From Monday, Reykjavík city will call for applications for grants from the capital's budget, for the year 2026.
The purpose of the grants is to support a variety of projects by individuals and non-governmental organisations that contribute to the successful development of the urban community, quality of life and a diverse society.
Grants are awarded for projects in the following areas:

The hot water outage in Grafarvogur, Reykjavík today has been traced to corrosion in the main pipeline that supplied the entire district with hot water.
Repairs began around 10 am, after the hot water was successfully drained from the tunnels under Vesturlandsvegur where the pipe burst.
