Double homicide at the Edition Hotel – the tragedy of a French family

A man and a teenage girl from France were found dead this morning at the Edition Hotel, located by the Reykjavík harbour. A third individual, a woman also from France, was seriously injured and taken to the hospital.

The bike path will be closed until the autumn of 2026. One of the most heavily used cycling routes in the capital area is set to be closed for over a year due to major infrastructure work. Life saving naloxone now available in Icelandic prisons

Geoscientists assess conditions at Dettifoss

Rangers discovered a landslide during heavy rainfall exactly one week ago. It had occurred near the edge of the canyon, outside the waterfall itself.
