Escape routes should remain clear despite severe weather

The likelihood of an eruption in the Sundhnúksgígaröð has increased. Around 40 houses in Grindavík are currently occupied, and the Blue Lagoon (Bláa lónið) remains open.

Now, from his facility in Kópavogur, many different flavours (ranging from one to five on the "chilli scale" of heat) are produced, and available across the country.

Near collision of two aircraft in 2024 found to have happened as air traffic controllers watched football

A near-miss between two aircraft occurred in February 2024, with the minimum distance between them recorded at just 23 metres. At the time, the planes were flying at approximately 900 feet over Skerjafjörður, just west of Kársnes.

The RNSA concluded that a football game being shown on television in the air traffic control tower influenced the sequence of events leading up to this serious air traffic incident. The RNSA has now issued its […] more

Members of the Skagafjörður Preschool Teachers' Association and the Skagafjörður Preschool Administrators' Association believe that the chairman of the Skagafjörður Education Committee has violated the code of conduct for elected representatives by participating in a class action lawsuit by parents against the Icelandic Teachers' Union, due to the implementation of strike action in a few selected schools.
