Svavarssafn is a contemporary art museum at Höfn in Hornafjordur. It's currently host to an exhibition by local artist Lísa Þortsteinsdóttir called Augnablík (Moments).
The exhibition runs until January 17.

The man accused of killing an elderly couple in Neskaupstaður last summer, denied the charges during a hearing in the East Iceland District Court today.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder and rejected the claim for damages.
However, he was also charged with violating weapons laws due to carrying a knife. He admitted to possessing the knife but claimed he had not broken any laws.

At Strandgata 61 in Eskifjörður stands a house owned by the company Móglí, alongside old tanks from the era of oil heating. The tanks contained oil residues, and in March last year, pollution was detected.

Sölvi Rúnar Vignisson, a biologist and ornithologist, says reports of changes in birdlife in Grindavík began to emerge last summer. Residents of Grindavík noticed birds appearing in unusual locations within the town.
He notes that many ptarmigans and other bird species, typically not seen in urban areas, have been observed.
