Adventure Garden Reopens in Akureyri for Summer Season
A popular outdoor art attraction in North Iceland is reopening to visitors for the summer season. The Adventure Garden, located on Oddeyrargata in Akureyri, opened its gates yesterday. According to Visit Akureyri, the open-air gallery features a collection of imaginative artworks inspired by fairy tales, folklore and well-known adventure characters. What’s the Story? Teaching material provision cut 'for decades'

Funding for the development and purchase of teaching materials in the Icelandic school system has declined significantly over 20 years, says Íris E. Gísladóttir, chair of the board of Þróunarsjóður námsgagna (Teaching Materials Development Fund), who submitted a report to the minister of education yesterday.

Holiday Monday Hvalfjörður tunnel closure reminder

People planning to travel over the long weekend and into Monday's holiday, may need to bear in mind the renewal of lighting equipment in Hvalfjörður tunnel as the weekend progresses.

The tunnel is closed five nights a week. It will be open for the next two nights, over the weekend, but closed [as usual on this work schedule] to traffic overnight from Monday into Tuesday.
