Thousands are Smitten with Icelandic dating app

Hope to form a government before Christmas
Inga Sæland talked to mbl.is about the status of the government formation. There is a lot of trust between the leaders of the Social Democratic Alliance, the Liberal Reform Party, and the People's Party. It would take something unusual to happen for the parties to fail to form a government. Inga Sæland, the leader of the People's Party, hopes that a government will be formed before Christmas and she believes discussions on the division of ministries may begin tomorrow. more

More power options are needed

A lack of “ring“ connection is a big problem, says Einar Freyr Elínarson, the mayor of Mýrdalshreppur.

There was a power outage in Vík in Mýrdalur and nearby areas last night, and again in the afternoon yesterday, the second such incident in about three months.

Hopes for no more winter election

The National Electoral Commission will meet at 11am to allocate parliamentary seats based on the results of the parliamentary elections.

Its chair, Kristín Edwald, was a guest on Rás 2 this morning.

She says the elections went well despite the short notice and challenging weather conditions.
