“When I asked a security guard to provide me with a mask and help me find out how to get to a doctor due to a skin condition, he refused to help and told me off for having no mask. My single-use mask was three days old and I really needed a new one,” Abdal Rahman Hameed tells RÚV. Abdul is a resident at the Directorate of Immigration asylum seeker accommodation centre at Ásbrú. “The following days I didn’t dare collect my food trays for fear of the guard reporting me to the Directorate." more

Last week a series of earthquakes occurred on
the Reykjanes Peninsula, between Fagradalsfjall and Kleifarvatn - the largest
of which was a magnitude
5.6 earthquake in the vicinity of Núpshíðarháls, which occurred at 13:43 on
20th October. The maps displayed here show ground deformation associated with
movement on faults during the period 16th-22nd October.more
